Initial Evalution

During the 55-minute initial orthopedic evaluation, Hilary will assess the area that is painful, as well as connected areas that could be contributing to the pain in order to make a comprehensive diagnosis.

Hilary’s unique, 55-minute pelvic floor evaluation requires prior written consent due to the sensitive nature of that area of the body. The patient may bring a companion to the appointment if doing so will make them feel more comfortable. Hilary will evaluate whether pelvic floor strength, endurance, and/or tightness could be causing symptoms. She may also use a biofeedback machine to assess coordination, especially if a pelvic floor exam is not possible.

After the initial appointment, follow-up visits are each 55 minutes. To help patients return to activities as quickly as possible, Hilary typically suggests weekly follow-up appointments for six consecutive weeks. During the initial evaluation, Hilary will discuss how long she estimates it might take to resolve the patient’s issue, and will let the patient know if she believes only one session is needed.
